The Buderim Foundation is opening applications for its annual Community Grants Program for 2025, with grants available for local organisations making a positive impact on the Buderim community.
Applications open on Monday, 19th May, to organisations serving the local Buderim community, and eligible applicants will need to apply before Tuesday 1st July 2025.
Buderim Foundation Chair Rick Woods said this year marks the Foundation’s 21st Anniversary and, thanks to the success of the Foundation in managing the community’s generous donations, the maximum grant amount for an individual organisation had been increased from $10,000 to $15,000.
Mr Woods said the application process details and 2025 guidelines are available on the website, with successful applicants to be announced at the Foundation’s 2025 annual Community Grants Celebration on Sunday, 14th September.
“The Buderim Foundation is here to assist our local community organisations to provide for those living in our community.
“Our Community Grants support projects which benefit the Buderim community across a diverse range of areas of interest, from protecting our natural environment to supporting youth in our community,” Mr Woods said.
“Each year, the program attracts a great deal of interest. Last year, more than $120,000 in grants were awarded to 23 local organisations, bringing the total amount distributed to over $950,031 to 105 different community organisations.”
Buderim Foundation Grants Committee, Chair Chris Rigby, said it was only through the continued generous support of donors that the Foundation was able to invest money to generate returns that could be re-invested in the community each year through local organisations.
“By investing in organisations serving the Buderim community, we strive to support and encourage positive initiatives that include assisting people to live healthy and fulfilling lives, encouraging cultural endeavours, increasing learning opportunities, protecting and preserving our natural environment, and supporting youth in our community,” Mr Rigby said.
The Buderim Foundation is a philanthropic organisation that aims to enrich and enhance the quality of life for everyone who lives in the Buderim area by harnessing the power of giving.
The Foundation works by professionally investing all donations and bequests. The earnings from these investments are redistributed to the community via an annual grants program open to not-for-profit community organisations that provide a service and support to residents in the Buderim area.
In addition, the Foundation manages the Thompson Charitable Fund, which provides grants to organisations supporting people experiencing homelessness and financial hardship across the whole Sunshine Coast.
