The Buderim War Memorial Community Association are spreading the message of peace and goodwill as they gear up for the annual Buderim Community Christmas Carols.
The Carols, proudly sponsored again this year by the Buderim Bendigo Community Bank, will be a great opportunity for everyone in the community to come together and celebrate the festive season on Saturday 13th December at the Buderim Mountain State School Oval from 6.30pm.
The line up this year will include Buderim’s own opera star Natalie Peluso, the Buderim Youth Theatre of Excellence (BYTES) and the Buderim Male Choir, in their 40th anniversary year.
There will of course be a visit from Santa as well as a sausage sizzle and great community sing along. BWMCA Carols organiser Andrew Butterworth said 2014 had been one of uncertainty internationally and so it was great for the local community to come together and celebrate peace and goodwill to all.
“The Buderim community is very special – everyone looks after each other – so its great that we can get together at a relaxed event like this as the festive season and summer school holidays get underway,” Mr Butterworth said.
“Its also a great opportunity to make everyone feel welcome – particularly those for whom Christmas is a lonely time.
“We want everyone to come along – bring your family and friends or arrange to meet there to sing along or listen to your favourite carols.”
With classics such as ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sing’ and upbeat family favourites including ‘Jingle Bells’ the night is sure to include everyone’s favourite Christmas Carol.
This year’s carols will feature its own opera star, Natalie Peluso singing ‘Angels we have heard on high’ and ‘Joy to the World’. In addition, local performers and singers from the Buderim Youth Theatre of Excellence and the Buderim Male Choir will also be performing classics.
The events major sponsor Buderim Bendigo Community Bank are excited for the community to get involved and enjoy a great night of family fun which aims to spread peace and good will within the community.
“So bring your fold up chairs or picnic rugs and your voices and we will see you there!”
Entry is gold coin donation. Sunshine Coast Council, Carvosso & Winship Solicitors Buderim, 104.9 Sunshine FM, Buderim Chronicle, Reflected Image PRoduction, JPG design and Buderim Mountain State School are also proud support the event.
