The fifth annual Sunshine Coast Real Food Festival will be a great celebration with a new venue added to the line up and more than 50 presentations across seven venues from chefs, food producers and experts.
The new venue, “Eat My Words” will have a focus on food writing, food bloggers, cookbook authors and restaurant reviewers.
“We are really excited to be celebrating our 5th anniversary at this year’s festival – on 12 & 13 September 2015 – and about all the venues and presentations – it just shows how the Sunshine Coast food industry and the festival is evolving,” Festival Director Julie Shelton said.
The new venue, ‘Eat My Words’ will run along side the Kunara Real Food Kitchen, the University of the Sunshine Coast Food for Thought, Nourishing Ideas and Food Craft venues and the Forage Kitchen Garden.
Julie Shelton said the Real Food Festival would once again bring together the best Sunshine Coast food products and services from paddock to plate.
“We are delighted that top Australian chef and food writer Christine Manfield will again be presenting at this year’s festival – her presence at last years event was inspiring to many festival goers.
“Christine is world renowned for her culinary excellence and her ability to draw on tastes and flavours from cultures around the world, this year she will be presenting in the Eat My Words venue on Saturday 12th September and giving a cooking demonstration in the Real Food Kitchen on Sunday 13th May.
With the success of eight published award-winning books while running some of Australia’s leading restaurants for more than two decades, Christine is also a food and travel writer.
Christine said she is looking forward to sharing her food knowledge with festival visitors and is excited to be cooking and sampling some of the fresh produce the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
“I strongly believe in the complementary and sustaining nature of good food, wine, people, pleasure and learning and I think the Real Food Festival embraces all those things,” Christine said.
“The Real Food Festival is a joyful celebration of good food and a unique gathering of the Sunshine Coast food community – what a fantastic opportunity for local food-related businesses to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in support of the rich diversity of what we produce here,” Julie said.
The Sunshine Coast Real Food Festival is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland as part of a dynamic calendar of events throughout the state. It is also supported by Sunshine Coast Council and Sunshine Coast Destination Limited.
