Siena Catholic College students will hold a Christmas Collection Donation Drive on Friday, 8th November at Siena Catholic College car park for Sunshine Coast based charity Bloomhill Cancer Help.
Any unwanted clothes, books, furniture, bric-a-brac, household items and toys that are in good, resalable condition will be gratefully accepted.
Careers and Vocational Education Coordinator at Siena College, Maree Cansick said that students had been working hard on planning the donation drive.
“We have 150 students from year 10 who are completing a certificate 1 in Active Volunteering, which involves the students researching Bloomhill Cancer Help to gain a better understanding of the services they provide, ” Maree said.
All items donated will be tagged and tracked through to sale, and a record kept so the students know how much they have raised for Bloomhill.
“Volunteering their time has been a great way for students to give back to the community and provided a rewarding experience, knowing that funds raised from their project will help assist local cancer patients and their families in their time of need,” Maree said.
The donation drive will be held from 7am to 9am at the Siena Catholic College car park, 58 Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs and volunteers will be onsite to help with the drop-off of donations.
