Celebrating the ex-HMAS Brisbane 11th anniversary
Sunreef Mooloolaba is doing it again – following the success of last year’s ex-HMAS Brisbane anniversary, they are doing it again. To celebrate the 11th anniversary of the scuttling of what has become Australia’s best military shipwreck, scuba divers will dive for FREE.
Sunreef Mooloolaba owner Dan Hart said the HMAS Brisbane had generated hundreds of millions of dollars for the Sunshine Coast economy since it was scuttled.“As the largest diving company on the Sunshine Coast, with two moorings on the wreck, we have been just one of the tourism businesses to benefit so to celebrate the anniversary we want to offer a very special opportunity for people to dive the wreck for free on Sunday 31st July,” Dan said.

Dan said while the dives would be completely free of charge, Sunreef were encouraging people to ‘pay it forward’ and make a donation to SunnyKids, a great Sunshine Coast charity supporting at-risk young people in our community.“Sunreef will supply everything you need including wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins and tanks – absolutely everything – and divers can experience our very own world-class dive wreck and give back to the Sunshine Coast community with whatever donation they would like to give.”

A single dive on the Brisbane with all the gear is usually $99 per person but it’s up to everyone what they want to donate to Sunnykids and we hope everyone will be generous. All you need to dive the wreck is an Open Water Dive certificate.“We will have four boats each day so that’s 64 people who can join us so
“We will have four boats each day so that’s 64 people who can join us so lets have fun and see how much we can raise for SunnyKids. We will also be running a sausage sizzle on Sunday from 10am to 2pm and great specials in-store so even if you aren’t diving come and join in the celebrations.”
