The Sunshine Coast Falcons will take to the field for the first home game of the 2022 QRL season this weekend with the backing of Sunshine Mitre 10, one of the largest independently operated hardware suppliers in Queensland.
Following their sponsorship of the club in 2021, Sunshine Mitre 10 have signed on for a 3-year partnership.
Sunshine Mitre 10 general manager Neil Hutchins said the Falcon’s sponsorship was part of the organisation’s commitment to supporting local sporting and community organisations where they operated.
“We really enjoyed being part of the Sunshine Coast Falcons last year and like Sunshine Mitre 10 the Club has deep roots in the Sunshine Coast community,” Mr Hutchins said.
“At Sunshine Mitre 10, we love to lend our support to all kinds of community groups in every community in which we do business, and with rugby league being such a big part of Australia’s culture, it’s just a natural fit.
“We are looking forward to working with them for the next three years as they develop the next generation of rugby league players, and also provide pathways for local Sunshine Coast men and women to the NRL and NRLW.”
Sunshine Coast Falcons CEO Chris Flannery said the expectation for the Falcons this year was to make the finals.
“With new coach Brad Henderson, and our player roster we are confident we can achieve this,” Mr Flannery said.
“Brad is a Sunshine Coast local and joining the Falcons was an opportunity for him to come home and he brings with him all the experience he gained coaching in the elite ranks of the Canterbury Bulldogs.”
