Buderim Foundation lends support to local families for school expenses

The Buderim Foundation is proud to once again be a part of the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) Back to School Program.  For the 14th year running, the Buderim Foundation is helping local families with school expenses like clothing, shoes and stationery by offering $50 Target vouchers to families who need assistance.

Buderim Foundation Director, Lisa Edward said this year, a total of 229 vouchers will be distributed. A total of $8,950 in vouchers were provided by the FRRR, $1,500 from Buderim Lions and $1,000 from Buderim Rotary.

“We provide the vouchers to local schools, as well as SunnyKids who distribute these ensuring the families and children in the greatest need obtain the most benefit from the program, whilst maintaining their privacy.

Buderim Foundation hosts Youth Summit to promote philanthropy

Student leaders from six Sunshine Coast schools will come together for the second annual Buderim Foundation Youth Summit to promote life-long philanthropy among Sunshine Coast youth.

Buderim Foundation Youth Committee chair, Graham Tamblyn said the Summit was part of the Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Project, which aims to introduce the concept of Philanthropy and its value to the community to young people, inspiring them to adopt it throughout their lives.

Buderim Foundation sets ambitious fundraising target to maximize community benefits

The Buderim Foundation is launching an exciting year-long Community Challenge to increase grants to local community organisations into the future.

Buderim Foundation chair Russell Stitz said the Foundation was challenging the community to help increase the und from $1.4million to $2million in just 12 months.

New faces to drive Foundation’s growth agenda

Four new directors including a new Chair were formally appointed to the Board of the Buderim Foundation at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting this month.

New Chair, Adjunct Professor Russell Stitz, Jan Nelson, Amber James and Geoff Sawyer join eight current directors and replace retiring directors – former Chair Heinz Seeberg and John Devers.

“Foote-tapping” music coming to Buderim rainforest sanctuary

The beautiful Foote War Memorial Sanctuary in Park Lane Buderim will host a lively concert on Sunday July 30 with food and plant stalls opening at 11am and the music beginning at 12.30pm.

In Buderim’s Foote Sanctuary in preparation for the Foote-Tapping Music Concert on July 30 hosts and performers met to discuss the big day.

The program has been devised by the well-known Buderim singer and concert organiser Bev Gourlay to include vocalists, a choir and instrumental items, all cheekily labelled Foote Tapping.

Grant applications sought as Buderim Foundation’s 2017 program gets underway

The Buderim Foundation’s 2017Community Grants Program gets underway on Friday June 2. Now in its tenth consecutive year, eligible community groups benefitting the Buderim community are encouraged to apply for grants up to $10,000.

Lisa Edward, Chair of the Foundation’s Grants Committee said that this year, successful grant applicants were likely to share a total grant pool of approximately $60,000.

The 2017 grants will be in addition to more than $340,000 already granted to more than 60 community groups since the Foundation’s grants program began in 2008.

Buderim honours local ANZACs

The Buderim War Memorial Community Association (BWMCA) will again honour local ANZACs during ANZAC Day Commemoration this year.

This year the program’s cover features Buderim hero, Sapper John Dahl, who was killed in action in 1916.

Buderim Foundation lends a Helping Hand to assist local families

School expenses such as clothing, shoes and stationery supplies can be challenging for many families. So, the Buderim Foundation is proud to be a part of the 2017 FRRR Back to School Program that offers $50 Target vouchers to families who require some assistance.

Managed by The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR), this program supports students and their families who attend schools in our local area.  This year, with significant financial support from our local Buderim Lions and Rotary Clubs, the Buderim Foundation is able to distribute 250 Target vouchers valued at $50 each, a total worth of $12,500.
