The Wharf Mooloolaba has rescheduled the first Family Fun Day of the year after Cyclone Oma interrupted plans for the original event.
The first of several highly anticipated Family Fun Days planned for the year will now be held at the popular open-air precinct on Sunday 10th of March.
From 10am to 3pm on the Sunday, locals and visitors are invited to join in on any of the family-friendly activities available onsite including face painting, petting zoo, jumping castle, large Jenga challenge and Connect Four games to play, and more – all absolutely free.
The Wharf Mooloolaba Managing Director Dirk Long said it would be the first Family Fun Day since the second stage of The Wharf Mooloolaba’s $10 million refurbishment was completed late last year.
“So much has happened at The Wharf since our last Family Fun Day with many exciting new activity, dining and retail businesses now calling the complex home,” Mr Long said.
“Our Family Fun Days have always been about celebrating community and with the majority of The Wharf now tenanted, we wanted to thank the local people of the Sunshine Coast for their support by coming together and having some fun.
“All of the Family Fun Day activities like the face painting and the jumping castle for example, will be free on the day, and there are plenty of activities to keep the grown-ups happy too, with boutique shopping and an incredible choice of dining options.
“There really is something for everyone here at The Wharf,” Mr Long said.
SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast are also getting in on the act, with admissions staff offering 1 free entry all day during the Family Fun Day to children under 14 years for every full paying adult upon hearing the codewords ‘Sammy the Seal’. *T&C’s apply.
2019 is shaping up to be an exciting year for The Wharf Mooloolaba, with 13 cruise ship visits pencilled in for the year, a live music program and popular Cotton Tree foodie hub Get Fresh relocating to the precinct in time for the Family Fun Day.
The breadth of activity, dining and retail businesses mean The Wharf Mooloolaba is firmly re-establishing its reputation as the place to meet, eat and explore at Mooloolaba and on the Sunshine Coast.
“We are very proud of what has been achieved so far and it’s been incredible to see The Wharf Mooloolaba once again be considered as a Sunshine Coast icon – a great place for locals and tourists, as well as a great entry point for the more than 10,000 visitors per year who come to the region on cruise ships,” Mr Long said.
“People can come and enjoy a great day at the Wharf, choosing from the great activities and attractions like whale watching, sunset cruises, scuba diving and snorkeling, check out the attractions at SEALIFE, enjoy a fantastic meal at any number of the cafes and restaurants which have become destinations in their own right, and do some great shopping too.
“Where else can you choose from such a great variety of dining and retail options all with those stunning river-front or harbour views.”
“You really can do everything at The Wharf Mooloolaba – meet, eat and explore!”, Mr Long said.
